My textile installations are tangible prayers — objects designed to hold and transmit specific emotional states. This practice of bringing feelings to light, making them tangible and physical, is at the heart of all of my work.

A compilation of images and video from three separate but connected art installations in Northern California in 2022: Moving and Held at the Same Time at the Creative Sanctuary; the holding space at the Arcata Playhouse for the Zero to Fierce Festival; and, the Holding Space at Outer Roominations Art Festival. Exploring the feeling of holding space gently, allowing for movement within a loving container.

A tangible prayer for anyone who needs to feel held together. I offered this piece to my Instagram community, and a new friend asked if I'd send it to someone she knew in Ukraine. That person, in turn, asked me to send it as a surprise to someone undergoing chemo in Canada. May it instill faith that something invisible is, indeed, holding you together.
