Blank Books

ongoing

wood, felt, plant-dyed papers

the book-making is perpetuated by the lovely process of dying sheets. I keep making more sheets, and they keep becoming new books.

All the dyes are from pots I keep warm on the stove that hold different colors: pink from avocado skins and pits, yellow from lemon rinds, sometimes tea enters the picture and turns everything tan.

My favorite way of making books is to be commissioned to make something with a particular feeling to it. Then I source the paper, and dye the sheets with plants that match the intended feeling. The cover is lovingly crafted to further enhance the intention of the book.
